On the first Monday of the month of Sawan i.e. on 22nd July, the first ride of Lord Shri Mahakaleshwar will be taken out with pomp and show through the traditional route. In the palanquin, Lord will go on a city tour in the form of Manmahesh to give darshan to his devotees.

The sequence of processions of south facing Lord Shri Mahakaleshwar, one of the world famous twelve Jyotirlingas, in the month of Shravan-Bhadrapada is starting from tomorrow. On Monday, July 22, the first day of the month of Shravan, the procession will be taken out on the traditional route to give darshan to its devotees on a city tour.

Administrator of Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee and Additional Collector Mrinal Meena said that the first ride of Lord Shri Mahakaleshwar will be taken out with pomp and show through the traditional route. In the palanquin, Lord will go on a city tour in the form of Manmahesh to give darshan to his devotees. After the formal worship of Shri Manmahesh form of Lord Shri Mahakaleshwar in the assembly hall of Mahakal temple, Lord Shri Manmahesh will go on a city tour seated in a palanquin.

Lord’s ride will leave the temple at its traditionally scheduled time of 4 pm.

At the main gate of the temple, a salute (guard of honor) will be given to Lord Shri Manmahesh seated in a palanquin by the soldiers of the armed police force. After leaving the temple, the palanquin of Lord Shri Mahakaleshwar will reach Ramghat via Mahakal Road, Gudri Square, Bakshi Bazaar and Kaharwadi. Where the consecration and worship of God will be done with the water of Shipra river. After this, the ride will again reach Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple via Ramanujkot, Modh Ki Dharamshala, Kartik Chowk, Khati Ka Mandir, Satyanarayan Mandir, Dhaba Road, Tanki Square, Chhatri Chowk, Gopal Mandir, Patni Bazaar, Gudri Bazaar.

A group of tribal artists will also participate

Administrator Mrinal Meena said that as per the wish of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, a group of tribal artists will also participate in the ride of Lord Shri Mahakaleshwar through Tribal Folk Art and Dialect Development Academy, Madhya Pradesh Culture Council. On July 22, a group of members of the Bhil tribal Bhagoria dance of Dhar will participate in the procession to perform.

Broadcast will be done through mobile chariot

Baba Mahakal’s ride will be telecast live through two moving chariots. The specialty of this moving chariot is that it will have a live box, due to which the live telecast will happen uninterrupted. From the main gate of the temple from where the palanquin of Rajadhiraj Mahakal will leave for the city tour, only the traditional nine bhajan groups and cymbal damru group will be included in the procession.
