Minister of State for Transport (Independent Charge) Dayashankar Singh has directed to recruit 10 thousand conductors soon. During a review meeting with senior officials and all regional managers in the auditorium of the Transport Corporation on Thursday, he took this decision in view of the shortage of conductors. He said that due to shortage of operators, many buses of the Transport Corporation are going off-route, causing financial loss. Besides, he also gave instructions to remove the shortage of technical staff soon.
The Transport Minister said that the repair work of buses should be done properly in the workshop. Eliminate the problem of leaking roofs of buses. People should experience a pleasant and comfortable journey. Seats, mirrors etc. of buses should be in better condition.
Online booking system should be improved. Drivers and conductors should be in uniform and should also wear name plates. There should be a provision of a helpline number at bus stations and depots on which passengers can lodge complaints. He also reviewed the load factor, fuel average and income of the buses. Also, instructions were given to eliminate the difference in parking fees of buses of Uttarakhand and UP. Let us tell you that Uttarakhand Transport Corporation has fixed the parking fee at Rs 550, whereas Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation charges only Rs 220.
Due to this, the buses of the Transport Corporation are suffering financial loss. While giving instructions to take effective steps to stop ticket and diesel theft, he said that monitoring should be done through cameras. Cleanliness should be better at the dhabas contracted by the corporation and toilet arrangements should be maintained well. The contract of the dhaba which fails in this should be terminated. In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary Transport L. Venkateshwar Lu, Managing Director Masoom Ali Sarwar, Additional Managing Director Ram Singh Verma and other departmental officers were present.
Action will be taken against officers performing poorly
He congratulated the managers of Noida, Ghaziabad, Chitrakoot and Bareilly for their better work and performance. Whereas regional managers of Meerut, Moradabad and Varanasi were warned for poor performance. Apart from this, the regional managers of Aligarh, Azamgarh, Jhansi, Meerut and Devipatan were warned about the number of unusable buses. He also directed to fix the responsibility of officers performing poorly and take action against them.
