CM Yogi said that the government has ordered a judicial inquiry into the incident. He said that a three -member judicial inquiry committee under the leadership of Justice Harsh Kumar will look into the matter. Apart from Justice Harsh Kumar, former DG VK Gupta and retired IAS VK Singh have been included in the committee. CM Yogi said that the police will also investigate the accident. CM Yogi has announced a help of Rs 25 lakh to the families of the victims.
Earlier, DIG Vaibhav Krishna of Mahakumbh Mela said that 30 devotees have died in a stampede between 1 to 2 pm in Mahakumbh. Of these, 25 have been identified. DIG Mahakumbh Vaibhav Krishna said that 90 people were rushed to the hospital after the accident.
