Police officer dies due to deteriorating health

A sub -inspector of police on duty at the fair died due to deteriorating health on the Sangam coast on Wednesday afternoon. A police officer said that Sub -Inspector Anjani Kumar Rai was appointed in Bahraich district.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Durga Prasad Tiwari told reporters, “On Wednesday, information was received that sub -inspector Anjani Rai, posted at Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj, died today (Wednesday) at around 12.00 pm due to deteriorating health during duty.”
Earlier in some media reports, Anjani Rai was said to be killed in a stampede. The official said that action of Panchayatanama and postmortem is being taken from the concerned police station level and the district police is in contact with the police in Prayagraj. Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Ramanand Prasad Kushwaha said, “Anjani Kumar Rai, born in 1976, was around 49 years old. Originally he was a resident of Ghazipur district but at present his family was living in Gorakhpur. ”

Two devotees of Madhya Pradesh died

30 devotees, including two residents of Madhya Pradesh, died in a stampede in Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh late on Tuesday night. Officials said two devotees of Madhya Pradesh – Hukum Bai Lodhi, resident of Chhatarpur district and Mohanlal Ahirwar, resident of Raisen district, died in a stampede.

Local administration to remove lack of arrangements- VHP

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Wednesday described the incident of stampede at Mahakumbh in Prayagraj as “very tragic” and hoped that whatever shortcomings are in the local administration arrangements will remove them. VHP president Alok Kumar expressed deep condolences to the loved ones of the people killed in the incident and wished all the injured to get well soon. He appealed to political parties not to make “allegations” in this case and said that this is the time to ensure proper treatment for the injured, console the families of the deceased and handle the situation.
