Tesla working on two more projects
1. ‘Cybercab’ without steering and paddle
Tesla CEO revealed the concept model of its first robotaxi, ‘Cybercab,’ with AI features at the ‘We-Robot’ event in California, USA, in October last year.
This two-seat taxi has neither a steering wheel nor a paddle. Consumers will be able to buy the Tesla Cybercab for less than $30,000 (about 25 lakh rupees).
Neither steering nor paddle in cybercab
- The cost of running a cybercab will be 20 cents per mile, i.e., around Rs 16 per 1.6 km.
- There will be no need for any kind of plug to charge it, that is, it has wireless charging.
- Cybercab is a fully self-driving electric car with no steering wheels or paddles.
- The cabin is quite compact and can seat only 2 passengers. A flat screen is given on the dashboard.
2. Robovan will also bring Tesla
Tesla also introduced another autonomous vehicle, ‘Robovan,’ with robotaxi at its V-robot event that is capable of carrying 20 people. The goods can also be carried in it. It can be used for transportation of sports teams.
Elon Musk wants to develop a fleet of taxis
Musk’s plan is to develop a fleet of self-driving Tesla taxis. Tesla’s owners will also be able to list their vehicles as part-time taxis. That is, when owners are not using their cars, they can earn money through the network.
